Roman Blinds

You choose the Fabric. We make it

We create made-to-measure Roman Blinds using your choice of fabric.  Shop around at John Lewis, Dunelm Mill or any online outlet to find your perfect fabric design, and then come to us for a free quote.   Prices start at £90 for a 1 sqm blind, with a range of premium head-rails from just £22.

Find the perfect fabric

Step 1: Choose your matching fabric from any retailer, supplier or online.  The best material for roman blinds is  heavy cotton, that holds and retains it’s shape and doesn’t degrade in the sunlight.

Head-rail and lining.

Step 2: Choose your head-rail and lining. We recommend the chain and corded headrails by Merrick and Day.   These premium Roman Blind headrails are available in a range of lengths, are easy to install, and comply with safety regulations.

Beautiful Blinds, hand made!

Step 3: Our standard charge is £90 per square meter (*multiply required width by the drop.  E.g. 120cm by 100cm, = 1.2sqm x £90 = £108).  The price includes blackout lining.   Our usual turnaround time is 2 weeks, but quicker by agreement.

Our Guide to

Making Roman Blinds

You can email us at at , call us on 01234 300459 or visit us at 111 Castle Road, for a free no-obligation quote.  Here’s some useful information to get you started:

The best material for Roman Blinds is a heavy cotton mix.  You want your Roman Blinds to have a neat fold and edges, and Cotton retains it’s shape better than other fabrics.

Fabrics like silk look great, but they fade in the Sun, and lose their shape more easily.

Think about the overall width.   We recommend a maximum width of around 250cm.  If you need wider, we suggest splitting into 2 separate Roman Blinds.

Most fabrics come in rolls roughly 138cm wide.  If you’re blind width is wider than 120cm, we’ll probably need to to join 2 or more drops of fabric to create the width.  If so, try to choose a pattern which is easy to pattern-match at the join.

Think about the finished drop. Do you want the blinds to stop just above the window sill, or lower?

Remember that when the blind is in the up-position, it will still have a hang of around 25-30cm.

By law, we must make you aware that the cords and chains of Roman Blinds can be a safety hazard to young children.

We use breakaway safety-devices in our Roman Blinds to reduce the risk of injury to children.  We’ll also advise you on correct length of chains to further reduce risk.
